Macau is finally taking its act to the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
PBA officials and the management of the Macau-based ballclub formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement, making the Black Bears the special guest team in the mid-season conference set to tip off on March 11.
The contract signing took place in Macau on Friday, with PBA Board Vice Chairman Alfrancis Chua and Commissioner Willie Marcial personally meeting the top executives of the Black Bears, led by team president Lukas Peng.
This marks the third time a foreign guest team will compete in the Commissioner’s Cup, following the Bay Area Dragons (Season 47) and Hong Kong Eastern (Season 48).
Marcial confirmed that the same concessions previously granted to those teams will also apply to Macau.
The Black Bears have been a familiar presence in leagues across Asia. They previously competed in the now-defunct ASEAN Basketball League and currently participate in the East Asia Super League and the Asian Tournament.
Macau recently wrapped up its 2025–26 EASL campaign, finishing winless in six games.
Key players include prolific point guard Damian Chongqui, sharpshooter Omari Peek-Green, versatile forward Phoenix Shackelford, and towering 7-foot-6 center Sam Deguara.
Garrett Kelly will serve as head coach for Macau.
