ONIC Philippines concluded their Snapdragon Pro Series Season 6 APAC – Challenge Finals in dominant fashion, sweeping ONIC ID 4-0 in the grand finals on Sunday at the Persada Johor International Convention Centre in Malaysia.
Along with securing another championship title, ONIC PH also earned a ticket to Indonesia for the Mobile Masters, joining Team Falcons PH as the region’s representatives.
Duanne “Kelra” Pillas delivered a world-class performance reminiscent of his championship Finals MVP form. In Game 4, he finished with a flawless KDA of seven kills and led his team to victory in just 10 minutes and 41 seconds.
ONIC PH set the tone early, securing commanding victories in the first two games, both lasting under 13 minutes, while limiting ONIC ID to fewer than four kills per match.
Game 3 saw the Indonesian squad put up a stronger fight, dominating the early game by securing all objectives and controlling the map for the first 10 minutes. However, at the 12-minute and 49-second mark, a crucial Lord skirmish turned the tide. The Novaria-Harith combo of Frince “Super Frince” Ramirez and Kelra secured the decisive moment, with Kelra achieving a Maniac at 13:25 and sealing the match with a straight push in the top lane.
In the group stage, the reigning MPL PH and world champions delivered a stellar performance in Group A, finishing second with a 4-1 record. They defeated Dean “Raizen” Sumagui and Rasec “Nomed” Sugarno’s See You Soon, Mark “Kramm” Rusiana and John “Innocent” Banal’s Selangor Red Giants, Jaymark “Hadess” Lazaro and Jankurt “KurTzy” Matira’s Team Flash, and Dylan “Light” Catipon and Eman “EMANN” Sangco’s Bigetron Alpha before falling to Team Liquid Indonesia.
Meanwhile, in Group B, Team Falcons PH topped their bracket with a 3-2 record. They secured victories against Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol’s ONIC Indonesia, EVOS Holy, and RRQ Hoshi but suffered identical 1-2 losses to Aurora and Falcon Esports.
In the playoffs, ONIC PH staged a comeback against RRQ Hoshi with a 2-1 reverse sweep, setting up an all-Filipino showdown against Team Falcons PH. The Hedgehogs dominated their fellow countrymen with a clean 2-0 sweep before dismantling Team Liquid ID in the upper-bracket finals with a decisive 3-0 victory.
For Team Falcons PH, their campaign ended in heartbreak as ONIC ID eliminated them via reverse sweep, 2-1, in the lower-bracket semi-finals.
Aurora, despite finishing Group B with a 3-2 record, failed to qualify for the playoffs due to a three-way tie with ONIC ID and RRQ Hoshi. They started their tournament with back-to-back 0-2 losses to Falcon Esports and RRQ Hoshi but bounced back with a 2-1 victory over ONIC ID. Determined to advance, Aurora secured two crucial wins on the third day, defeating Team Falcons PH 2-1 and EVOS Holy 2-0. However, their tournament run ended due to the head-to-head ruling in the tiebreaker.
The Snapdragon Mobile Masters 2025 is set to take place from April 7 to 13 at the Tennis Indoor Stadium Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia.
