ONE Championship came out on top of last year’s rankings for organic video views among all global sports properties, according to Facebook and CrowdTangle.
The Home Of Martial Arts had 8.84 billion organic views in 2021, edging all sports media properties. ONE also grew its following by 21.75 percent, translating to an additional 5.7 million social media users.
“It is an honor to be recognized as the number one sports property in the world in Facebook organic video views in 2021,” ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong said.
“Once again, we could not have achieved this feat without the greatest fans in the world and our superstar team at ONE Championship. While this data represents a great milestone, we are poised to reach even greater heights in 2022.”
World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) came in second with 7.92 billion views while experiencing a 27-percent increase in followers. The International Cricket Council (ICC) came in third with 2.61 billion views.
The National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) rounded up the top five with 1.86 and 1.65 billion views, respectively.
ONE has undoubtedly taken the initiative by aggressively putting up various content for localized or global audiences. It has also rewarded its fans with free fights and full events on Facebook and other social media accounts like YouTube and Instagram.
This approach resulted in ONE’s immense growth in digital media. It continues its tremendous rise from 2020, when Nielsen reported a 113 percent increase in global followers.
