The NCAA’s Management Committee is set to hold an emergency meeting on Thursday, November 8, at the Arellano University in Manila.
The agenda? To talk to Lyceum Pirates head coach Topex Robinson and CSB Blazers coaches TY Tang and Charles Tiu for ‘their alleged statements made on social media’.
Spin.ph first reported the development, and it was confirmed to Tiebreaker Times by multiple sources closely monitoring the situation.
The meeting was sent by current ManCom chairman Frank Gusi of Perpetual Help.
Tuesday evening, Robinson poured his heart out as he questioned the motivation behind the suspension of graduating guard CJ Perez.
“The reason it’s painful for us is because CJ didn’t do anything wrong. Hindi naman siya nag-ligang labas,” said Robinson after the game, alluding to the Perpetual Altas escaping sanctions after four of their student-cagers were alleged to have played in a league without gaining clearance from the league.
“I’ve always been quiet. I’ve always respected the league, but ano ba ang liga na ito, para sa ano o para sa bata?”
For their part, Tang and Tiu made subtle tweets regarding the issue.
“CJ Perez suspended in game 1 of the NCAA finals!?! Wow. That is a joke. I mean for the reason. That’s crazy,” Tiu tweeted last November 5 at around 4:09pm.
“And just like that……. WoW!!!!!!!” Tang tweeted at around 7:21 in the evening.
Sanctions could range from stern warnings to suspensions.
