Kim Dy-less F2 Logistics deals wasteful Cignal HD 2nd straight loss

Despite missing a key starter, the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers found a way to eke past the Cignal HD Spikers for their seventh win in the 2018 Chooks to Go-Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference, 25-22, 23-25, 25-14, 25-17 at the Bacoor Strike Gym in Cavite.

Both squads had virtually identical tallies in each scoring skill, except Cignal gave up 33 errors to F2 Logistics’ 14.

Cignal errors plagued the last two sets, which the Cargo Movers won comfortably. F2 Logistics head coach Ramil De Jesus lauded his team’s resiliency following a poor showing in the second set.

“May mga times na humihinto then mawawala ‘yung kumpiyansa. Hindi malaman kung saan pepwesto. Meron namang nag-lead ng team kaso late na, sobrang haba noong lamang ng kalaban,” admitted the three-time PSL champion head coach.

“Masaya kasi nakikita mo ‘yung kapit. Nakikita mo ‘yung determinasyon manalo kahit hindi kumpleto ‘yung team,” he added.

The Cargo Movers played without opposite hitter Kianna Dy who attended her grandmother’s wake. Dy was also suffering from knee soreness, of which she will seek a second opinion.

Invitational Cup MVP Ara Galang led the Cargo Movers with 18 points and 16 excellent receptions, while middle blocker Majoy Baron provided 16 markers.

Lefty opposite spiker Mylene Paat topped the HD Spikers with 18 points while Rachel Daquis managed 15.

The Cargo Movers (7-2) end their preliminary round campaign on Saturday against the Generika-Ayala Lifesavers (5-3). Cignal HD (4-5) face the Cocolife Asset Managers (1-7) on Tuesday at the Batangas City Sports Coliseum.
