Katrin Trebichavska believes in Cignal’s late-conference surge

United with a team she now calls family, Cignal import Katrin Trebichavska believes the Super Spikers have what it takes to rise to the challenge and battle through a grueling road toward a quarterfinal berth in the 2025 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference.

But even with renewed confidence and cohesion, the road ahead only gets tougher from here.

Cignal may have won its first second-round assignment to climb to eighth place, but the unbeaten ZUS Coffee and defending champion Creamline are up next. The Super Spikers face a brutal stretch where only victories will keep their quarterfinal hopes alive.

“The mindset? Obviously, the whole team had a really good mindset going into this,” Trebichavska said after their crucial 25-21, 23-25, 25-20, 25-20 win over the Chargers on Thursday night.

The Slovak winger remains confident that her team can push through.

And the source of Trebichavska’s unwavering belief lies in the bond that has grown quickly — a connection that goes beyond volleyball.

“We all wanted to win. We all knew we can. And there was never hesitation to be talked about or even felt. Everybody was so sure we can do this. And we did it,” said Trebichavska.

Arriving as a late replacement for Greek spiker Eva Chantava less than two weeks ago, Trebichavska shared that she already feels right at home — as if she has been part of the squad her whole life — thanks to the team’s warm welcome and genuine support.

“I’ve said it before, and I still stand by it. The team is amazing. Everybody’s helping me a lot, and I feel like… I’ve been here for two and a half weeks, and I feel like I have strong friendships with my teammates already,” said the 25-year-old reinforcement, who tallied 25 points against Akari.

“I just feel like I’ve been a part of this team for my entire life,” she added.

With that bond growing stronger by the day, Trebichavska hopes her time with the Super Spikers won’t be cut short — and the only way to make that happen is to keep winning.

“I feel very welcome here. I feel like I’ve been here for much longer than I actually have, and I just wish the season was longer because I’m really enjoying this and the chemistry.”
