SANTA ROSA, Laguna — Tine Tiamzon is set to add another two-way presence to Akari’s already deep wing rotation after officially signing with the Chargers ahead of the 2026 Premier Volleyball League season.
Tiamzon was a key contributor for Cignal during its run to the All-Filipino Conference gold medal series, where the Super Spikers fell to Creamline in a sweep before taking an immediate leave of absence following the finals.
The 29-year-old outside hitter came out of retirement last year and went on to play a full season with Cignal, helping stabilize a rebuilding squad that had already lost several key pieces.
She now joins an Akari team still searching for a long-awaited breakthrough after finishing in the middle of the pack in all four conferences last season.
Tiamzon is expected to slot into a loaded Chargers outside hitter rotation led by Grethcel Soltones, Ivy Lacsina, Faith Nisperos, and Mary Rhose Dapol.
Akari recently parted ways with liberos Dani Ravena and Max Juangco.
