Juami Tiongson has chosen the road less taken.
The 5-foot-10 floor general has decided to renew with Terrafirma for the next two years despite being an unrestricted free agent.
Agent Danny Espiritu confirmed the development to Tiebreaker Times.
A source added that Tiongson’s deal was close to max.
Despite the lowly finishes of Terrafirma, Tiongson has been one of the few bright spots for the franchise.
Tiongson, the 12th overall pick in the 2014 PBA Rookie Draft, arrived in Terrafirma back in 2019 after a series of trades saw him shipped by NLEX to Northport and, later on, to the Dyip.
In his first year with the Dyip, he averaged 13.4 points, 3.1 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.5 steals.
He upped his averages in the 2020 season, putting up numbers of 16.4 points, 3.3 assists, and 2.9 rebounds.
Last Commissioner’s Cup, he normed 16.7 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game.
With his renewal, Tiongson hopes that his next few years with Terrafirma will be more memorable than before.
