Poy Erram wasted no time and joined TNT a day after the complicated three-team trade that involved his former teams NLEX and Blackwater was given the green light by the PBA.
The 6-foot-7 slotman attended the KaTropa’s tuneup versus the Ateneo Blue Eagles at the Moro Lorenzo Sports Center in Katipunan and joined the warmups, though he did not play.
Erram’s return to the flagship MVP franchise took nearly two weeks before it materialized as the league’s trade committee sought for revisions before giving it the go-signal.
The proposal gained the approval just over a week before the league opens its new season on March 8.
In the approved deal, the Elite got Erram from the Road Warriors in exchange for Anthony Semerad, center Rabeh Al-Hussaini, a 2020 first-round draft pick, and a 2021 second-round pick.
Blackwater then shipped Erram to TNT for incoming fourth-year guard Ed Daquioag as well as big men Marion Magat and Yousef Taha along with future first-round picks.
Meanwhile, TNT is facing an Ateneo side that doesn’t have coach Tab Baldwin as he was rushed to the hospital Friday.
Lead assistant Sandy Arespacochaga is calling the shots for the reigning three-time UAAP champions in the friendly that also serves as part of the KaTropa’s buildup for the upcoming PBA wars.
