Adamson University setter Jennel Arasan is doing an impressive job of inheriting the pivotal role left by Felicity Sagaysay, guiding the Baby Falcons to the Final Four of the UAAP High School Girls’ Volleyball Tournament with poise and faith.
The Baby Falcons secured a twice-to-beat advantage after a hard-fought win against the FEU-D Baby Tamaraws, 18-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-20, finishing the elimination round in second place with a 9-3 record.
Arasan led the team with 12 excellent sets, fueling Adamson’s 46 attack points, which were spearheaded by Abi Segui and Sam Cantada.
Although they lost the first set, the Baby Falcons remained composed and fought back to redeem themselves.
Rather than feeling the weight of the pressure, Arasan draws inspiration from her faith, focusing on taking things one step at a time.
As the setter, Arasan understands the importance of consistency in her role to ensure the team’s success, allowing her spikers to execute strong attacks.
On Saturday, the Baby Falcons take on the UST Junior Tigresses — a team that they went 1-1 with during the elimination round.
For Arasan, it all boils down to a simple practice of prayer. With faith in themselves and God’s guidance, she believes that as long as she does her part, everything will unfold as it should.
