Miller will observe the mandatory one-year residency period before suiting up for the Green Archers.

A month after NCAA Season 101 ended, Miller announced his decision to leave San Beda University, citing that he no longer wants to play in the “Grand Old League.”

“I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else, but I refuse to play in the NCAA league,” he said.NCAA-101-SRS-SBU-vs.-CSB-Janti-Miller-6745 Janti Miller makes decision, commits to La Salle Basketball DLSU News UAAP - philippine sports news

In his lone season with San Beda, Miller made a strong impression, averaging 19.77 points, 6.08 rebounds, and 1.15 assists per game.

However, Miller was suspended during the Red Lions’ championship-clincher after being called for two “flops” in Game 1.

After he announced his departure from San Beda, three schools tried to secure his commitment: Ateneo de Manila University, the University of the Philippines, and La Salle.

UP and La Salle were neck-and-neck up until the last minute.

On Wednesday evening, Miller informed Fighting Maroons coaches Goldwin Monteverde and Tom Chua of his decision — he was going green instead of maroon.

Miller becomes the third Red Lion guard in six years to transfer to the Green Archers after Evan Nelle and Jacob Cortez.

He will be eligible to play for two seasons, starting in UAAP Season 90, giving La Salle a proven scorer to their roster once Jacob Cortez graduates.
