Since he lost in the quaterfinals of the 2018 NBTC National Finals, much has happened to young Filipino-American Jalen Green.
The top prospect of the 2020 recruiting class in America led Team USA to gold in the 2018 FIBA U17 World Cup, winning the Most Valuable Player crown in the process.
And though he is already on the top, the 17-year-old swingman still wants to redeem himself in front of his compatriots.
“I think we got like three players who know what we did last year, and we lost. But carrying that loss, we just need more of a build up for us to get it this year, and take it further than last year,” shared Green, whose 51-point outing against the NU Bullpups went for naught.
The 6-foot-5 guard has certainly made strides in his game, putting on a show during FilAm Sports 78-45 decimation of AusPinoy. Green finished with 18 points to go along with nine rebounds, three assists, and a steal. Moreover, he knocked down three triples.
Beyond winning, Green can’t wait to see his good friends Kai Sotto and Terrence Fortea – both of whom he bonded with during the World Cup in Argentina – and putting on a show in the Slam Dunk competition on Saturday.
“I can’t wait to see Kai. We text a lot. Terrence also,” the teenage sensation admitted.
“That’s really the only two people that I’m eager to see.”
