The first clash between Jalen Green and Jordan Clarkson will be a special one.
The Houston Rockets have announced that their home game against the Utah Jazz on October 29 (Manila time) will also be the team’s Filipino Heritage Night.
Green, the second overall pick in the 2021 NBA Rookie Draft, is an American of Filipino descent. Meanwhile, Clarkson, the reigning Sixth Man of the Year, is a Filipino-American who has played for Gilas during the 2018 Asian Games.
Besides bringing home a Green shirt, fans who will attend the game at the Toyota Center will also receive access to an exclusive Q&A with him.
The game will be the Rockets’ fifth of the season and their third at home.
Houston is currently banking on Green to lead the team’s rebuild after a disappointing 17-55 finish last season.
Green was part of G League Ignite’s pioneering batch.
Clarkson, on the other hand, is entering his seventh season in the league.
