Jalen Green reminds Kai Sotto to keep NBA dream burning

Jalen Green and Kai Sotto have gone a long way

Back in 2018, the two young guns were introduced to each other as they competed on separate sides in the Chooks-to-Go NBTC National Finals.NBTC-2019-Day-3-ADMU-vs.-USA-Jalen-Green-vs-Kai-Sotto-3139 Jalen Green reminds Kai Sotto to keep NBA dream burning Basketball News - philippine sports news

And Green never forgot Sotto even when he was in the States.

When Green decided to forgo college to join G League Ignite, he made sure to tell the bosses to bring Sotto with him to form the inaugural batch of the team.

Sotto though ended up in Australia to play for Adelaide while Green wound up as the second overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.

In the next draft, the 7-foot-3 Filipino big man went undrafted and went on to return to the 36ers.

Still, the NBA dream is not yet over for Sotto said the now-20 year old Green.

“I love Kai. That’s my dawg,” he said during the adidas JG4 Manila Tour on Sportsdesk.

“Kai is super talented, he has game but everyone has a different story. He just needs to keep his head down, trust the work and make sure to stay in the gym.”

And if the stars align for Sotto, Green knows that he will be facing him once more, this time in the NBA.

“Guys going to bless you, guys are going to reward you if you stay true to the game. Just keep your head down wherever you at. Everyone has a different story. Just stay in the gym. He’s going to get there.”
