Jaja Santiago fires 17 as Ageo Medics foils PFU

Jaja Santiago got her groove back as Saitama Ageo Medics thwarted PFU, 34-32, 25-21, 23-25, 25-13, in the 2020-21 Japan V.League Division 1 Women’s Tournament, Sunday afternoon at the Kahoku Stadium, Ishikawa City.

The 6-foot-5 middle blocker unloaded 17 points founded on 13 attacks, two block kills, and two service aces.

Santiago bounced back from a four-point outing in their straight-sets victory against Hitachi Rivale last week.

Yuri Yoshino delivered 23 points of her own for Saitama while Mami Uchiseto chipped in 18 markers.

The triumph upped Ageo Medics win-loss standing to 5-5 to steady their hold on the seventh spot.

Roslandy Acosta provided the fight for PFU with 23 points.

The Bluecats remained winless in nine outings.

Up next for Santiago and Saitama are Denso Airybees on Sunday, Nov. 29, 10 am at the KitaGas Arena in Sapporo.
