Gilas Women remain third after FIBA 3×3 NL-Asia 2 Stop 4


Gilas Pilipinas Women had a mixed performance on Day 4 of the FIBA 3×3 NL-Asia 2 on Friday in Handan Shi, China.

The Philippines continued its dominance over Mongolia with a 16-8 victory but then fell to world power Japan, 21-14.

After Stop 4, Gilas Women remained third with 260 points, 120 points behind China, which lost to Japan in the final, 21-13.

Japan is second with 310 points.

Camille Clarin continued to lead Gilas Women, scoring seven points against Mongolia and six against Japan, bringing her tally to 57 points.

Angel Surada, Ann Pingol, and Elaine Etang completed the Gilas 4 for this stop.

Tanaka Ufuoma and Miku Takahashi dominated against Gilas, scoring 18 of Japan’s 21 points to advance to the final.

Meanwhile, Gilas Men went 0-2 for this leg, dropping to fourth in the conference with 240 points.

Mongolia remained ahead with 380 points, followed by Japan with 300 points. China, which topped this stop, overtook the Philippines with 275 points.

Gilas Men suffered a 21-19 heartbreaker against Mongolia to open their campaign before losing to Japan, 21-15.

Patrick Sleat led Gilas Men with a total of 12 points.

Noy Remogat went scoreless against Japan after scoring five points against Mongolia.

The Philippines will be slotted with China and Japan in the penultimate leg of the conference.
