Fil-Kiwi Mark Abelardo added to ONE: No Surrender card

Filipino-Kiwi fan favorite Mark “Tyson” Fairtex Abelardo and reigning ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Stamp Fairtex are among those who have been added to the already loaded ONE: No Surrender card on Friday, July 31, in Bangkok, Thailand.

The pair of athletes from the famous Fairtex Training Center will battle separate foes in ONE Championship’s return to action for the first time in almost five months.

Abelardo battles Fabricio “Wonderboy” Andrade in a 67-kilogram catchweight bout. The natural bantamweight will look to get back to winning ways following a unanimous decision loss to “Pretty Boy” Troy Worthen at ONE: King of the Jungle last February.

By competing, “Tyson” hopes he can inspire fans to move forward during these trying times.

“The entire world is reeling right now, and if by stepping into the ring and showcasing my skills can help inspire people to soldier on, I’m glad to do it,” Abelardo said.

“I am thankful we can get back to competing again. This is what I live for and I have so much I want to do in this sport. The next step starts in Bangkok.”

Stamp, on the other hand, is gunning for her fifth win in as many matches in mixed martial arts when she battles the also unbeaten Sunisa “Thunderstorm” Srisen in an atomweight clash.

“I’m excited to get in the ring with my opponent. I’ve studied her style from her previous fights. She’s strong and has very good speed. I’ll see what I can do in this fight,” Stamp said.

“It’s definitely a worthy challenge. I’ve also improved a lot since my last bout. I want to thank all the fans for their continued support.”

To round out the card, “The Angel Warrior” Panpayak Jitmuangnon and Superlek “The Kicking Machine” Kiatmoo9 continue their rivalry as they face each other for the seventh time, this time in a ONE Super Series Muay Thai contest with 4 oz. gloves.

The ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Title will also be at stake when Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy defends his strap against “The Boxing Computer” Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex.

ONE Championship returns to live action with ONE: NO SURRENDER, an audience-free, closed-door event in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, July 31.
