When Danny “The King” Kingad shares the ONE Championship Circle with Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson in the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix Championship Final, the whole world will be watching.
The match between Kingad and Johnson is the co-main event of ONE: Century Part I on October 13 at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan.
It will be a historic 24 hours for The Home Of Martial Arts. They will hold two events in just one day, with Kingad competing in the morning show.
His bout with “Mighty Mouse” is headlined by the ONE Atomweight World Championship match between “Unstoppable” Angela Lee and “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan.
With this inclusion, Kingad’s match will be aired live on primetime in the USA, where Johnson cemented his legacy as one of the greatest athletes in the history of mixed martial arts.
And since the eyes of the world will be glued on that finale, Kingad is more motivated than ever.
“I’m coming in there with the mindset of winning – nothing more, nothing less. I just have to train to be better than what I was in my last match,” Kingad said.
“I just really want to share my talent with the whole world and show them how good we really are.”
No other than ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong made the announcement of the two separate shows on Sunday night. He formalized the big night for the largest martial arts organization in the world.
The ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix Championship Final between Eddie “The Underground King” Alvarez and Saygid “Dagi” Guseyn Arslanaliev is on the first show, as is Lito “Thunder Kid” Adiwang’s main roster debut against Senzo Ikeda.
Meanwhile, in the evening show, ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon “The Truth” Vera takes on two-division World Champion Aung La “The Burmese Python” N Sang for the Light Heavyweight World Title in the main event.
Joining Vera in the co-main event is his compatriot Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon. The Team Lakay standout looks to exorcise an old ghost in current ONE Bantamweight World Champion Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes.
Honorio “The Rock” Banario rounds up the Filipino athletes competing in the stacked card. He battles Japanese lightweight legend Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki on the evening show.
Catch ONE Championship’s event, ONE: Immortal Triumph, on September 6 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It will be the organization’s first-ever all-Super Series event.
