Cignal, Choco Mucho show solidarity with Filipino Olympians ahead of PVL clash


Cignal and Choco Mucho adorned special shirts bearing the names of Filipino Olympians set to compete on the world stage before their game in the PVL Reinforced Conference 2024 on Thursday evening at Philsports Arena.

PVL President Ricky Palou expressed the league’s deep commitment to bolstering Team Philippines throughout their Olympic journey.

“This is our way of showing unwavering support for our athletes. We believe in their talent and determination, and we hope our small gesture inspires them to perform their best in these Olympics,” Palou remarked.

“Good luck to all our Olympians, and make our country proud!”

Echoing this sentiment, PVL Commissioner Sherwin Malonzo emphasized the initiative’s role in highlighting Filipino athletes’ dedication across various sports.

“This initiative is part of our broader mission to showcase the hard work of Filipino athletes. We encourage our PVL fans and the volleyball community to rally behind our athletes as they prepare for their competitions in France,” Malonzo added.

A total of 22 Filipino athletes, led by pole vaulter EJ Obiena, gymnast Caloy Yulo, and boxers Nesthy Petecio, Carlo Paalam, and Eumir Marcial, will represent the Philippines in Paris 2024.

The contingent also includes gymnasts Aleah Finnegan, Emma Malabuyo, and Levi Ruivivar; weightlifters Elreen Ando, Vanessa Sarno, and John Ceniza; hurdlers John Tolentino and Lauren Hoffman; golfers Bianca Pagdanganan and Dottie Ardina; judoka Kiyomi Watanabe; rower Joanie Delgaco; swimmers Jarod Hatch and Kayla Sanchez; fencer Sam Catantan; and boxers Aira Villegas and Hergie Bacyadan.

Cignal TV will cover the Olympic Games Paris 2024 extensively across multiple platforms, including free-to-air (TV5, One Sports & RPTV), pay TV (One Sports+ and 24/7 Pop-Up Channels), and OTT (Pilipinas Live & Cignal Play) platforms from July 26 to August 11.
