Chery Tiggo is still awaiting the results of Imee Hernandez’s MRI after the young middle blocker suffered a knee injury in the Crossovers’ previous win against Nxled last Thursday.
Hernandez went down late in the second set after landing awkwardly following a quick attempt. The former UST standout, who refused to be carried out by a stretcher, had to be assisted off the court.
So ano naman, they handle the injury ni Imee,” he added.
Despite missing Hernandez, Chery Tiggo still managed to secure a crucial win over the High Speed Hitters in four sets, 14-25, 25-20, 28-26, 25-19, to claim the second spot in the standings with a 6-1 record.
Stepping up for the injured middle blocker is Cza Carandang, who had 10 points in the contest.
With Hernandez’s status for the rest of the conference still uncertain, Reyes said that the team will continue working as a unit as they aim to return to the semifinals of the All-Filipino Conference for the first time in two years.
“We work as a team, ganun talaga hindi kasi namin kayang i-overlap yung mga trabaho talagang may kanya-kanyang designation. Hindi kami magba-back down kasi yung resources andiyan, yung tao andiyan, so we work as a team.
