Strong Group lands Ara Galang, Mylene Paat, Imee Hernandez in massive offseason boost

Strong Group Athletics put the final pieces on its massive offseason buildup by signing former Chery Tiggo stars Ara Galang and Mylene Paat for the 2026 Premier Volleyball League season on Thursday.

Galang and Paat give Strong Group — which owns ZUS Coffee and Farm Fresh — immediate firepower and big-game experience, with both players bringing championship pedigree and a proven track record.

The 31-year-old outside hitter helped the now-defunct Crossovers reach the PVL On Tour finals, where they fell short against PLDT, and helped the team to a semifinal finish in the PVL Invitational.

Meanwhile, the 31-year-old former league MVP Paat, also 31, was coming off a lengthy recovery from a shoulder injury. She saw limited action during the season-ending Reinforced Conference, but remains one of the league’s most reliable scoring options when healthy.

Also part of the signing spree is Imee Hernandez, whose run with Chery Tiggo was hampered by knee injuries.

Galang, Paat, and Hernandez join former Crossovers teammates Cess Robles, Karen Verdeflor, and Renee Peñafiel in the SGA stable, which also recently signed veterans Remy Palma, Chie Saet, Royse Tubino, and Bia General.
