Cameron Clark isn’t returning to the PBA just yet.
Per sources, “serious family problems” made the American forward back out of his commitment with Blackwater for the Season 49 Governors’ Cup.
He had already signed the contract, sources said, that would officially make him the replacement for Ricky Ledo before the change of heart.
But it was also through Clark’s agent that the ball club found another option, leading to the signing of former NBA pro George King.
Listed at 6-foot-6, the 30-year-old winger played briefly for the Phoenix Suns and the Dallas Mavericks, and has had numerous stints in Europe as well.
King, who most recently played for Ironi Ness Ziona of the Israeli Basketball Premier League, is expected to arrive in Manila on Wednesday.
Blackwater is of course hoping that the cager from Fayetteville, North Carolina would be the answer to their import problems this conference.
Barring any hitch, King could make his PBA debut on Friday against Justin Brownlee and Barangay Ginebra at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
