Caloy Yulo copped two medals leading into next month’s World Championships, as he bagged a gold and a bronze in the 2021 All-Japan Seniors and Masters Gymnastics Championships held at the Sakata City National Athletic Meet Memorial Gymnasium in Yamagata, Thursday.
The reigning world champion on floor exercise showed his form in the said apparatus to top the field with 15.300 points.
It is the first time he has scored above 15’s in his favorite apparatus for the current year.
Yulo, who barely missed the podium in last month’s Olympic Games in vault, also added a bronze in the apparatus.
The 25-year-old standout ended with 15.000 to capture the third-place honors.
The Olympian looks to build on from these performances as he prepares for the World Championship taking place in Kitakyushu, Japan.
