Two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, set to be honored by the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) as the 2024 Athlete of the Year for his exceptional performance in the 2024 Paris Olympics, has been named the Brand Ambassador of IAM Worldwide Corporation’s Amazing Choco Barley drink.
The 24-year-old pride of Leveriza, Manila, made history by becoming the second Olympic gold medalist to bring glory to the Philippines, following weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz’s groundbreaking victory at the 2021 Tokyo Summer Games. Yulo clinched a rare double gold at the Paris Olympics, excelling in the men’s floor exercise and vault—an unprecedented feat for any Filipino gymnast or individual athlete.
The historic achievement will be celebrated at the PSA Awards Night, which promises to be the grandest ever organized by the sportswriting community. This year’s event, themed “Golden Year, Golden Centenary,” will also honor the country’s treasured Olympians, recognizing their hard work and discipline in elevating Philippine sports to the global stage.
