The Philippine men’s national gymnastics team finished sixth in the 20th Asian Games Men’s Team Final with 227.359 points on Wednesday at the Nagoya General Gymnasium in Japan.
The Philippines briefly moved into medal position after two rotations, ranking third after scoring 42.365 points on vault.
Carlos Yulo led the team with 14.566 points, while Eldrew Yulo scored 13.966 and Justin Ace De Leon added 13.833.
The Philippines slipped in the floor exercise as De Leon and Eldrew posted 10.933 and 13.000 points, respectively.
Carlos Yulo delivered the team’s highest floor score at 14.266 points, but the Philippines could not regain its position in the standings.
The result left the Philippines in sixth place overall in the men’s team final, ending its bid for a team medal.
Carlos and Eldrew Yulo will now turn their attention to the individual apparatus finals.
