Biñan Tatak Gel and Zamboanga SiKat strengthened their respective campaigns with convincing victories, while Batangas City Tanduay Athletics extended its winning streak to 10 games on Thursday in the MPBL 2026 Season at the Batangas City Coliseum.
Biñan opened the triple-header with a dominant 95-75 rout of Bulacan, racing to an early double-digit lead and never looking back.
The Tatak Gel unleashed a 12-point run to start the game and kept the Bulacan Kuyas at bay throughout, stretching their winning streak to nine games and improving to 12-3 in the round-robin elimination phase.
Carlo Lastimosa led the way with 18 points, four rebounds, and two steals. After scoring eight points in the fourth quarter, he earned Best Player honors over Jaymar Gimpayan, who posted 13 points, 11 rebounds, and two assists, and Michael Mabulac, who finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists.
Kenny Roger Rocacurva added 12 points and four rebounds, Kristan Hernandez contributed 11 points and six rebounds, while Nic Cabanero chipped in 10 points, four rebounds, and two assists as Biñan led by as many as 21 points, 47-26.
Bulacan, which dropped its fourth straight game to fall to 4-11, was paced by Jonathan Medina and Jeremy Cruz with 13 points apiece, while Marj De Leon scored 12.
In the second game, Zamboanga SiKat held off a late Basilan Steel rally to secure an 82-74 victory and improve to 5-9.
Zamboanga appeared headed for a comfortable win after building a 52-27 advantage, but Basilan stormed back behind Kenneth Mocon and John Wilson, trimming the deficit to 76-72 and later 78-74.
Brandon Wilson answered with a driving basket before Reggz Gabat sank two free throws with 16 seconds remaining to put the game away.
Joseph Gabayni posted 13 points, 14 rebounds, and two assists to earn Best Player honors, edging Gabat, who finished with 19 points and two rebounds.
Forthsky Padrigao added 16 points, four assists, and two rebounds, Inand Fornilos contributed 10 points, eight rebounds, three steals, and two assists, while Brandon Wilson tallied 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Basilan slipped to 7-9 despite 18 points and nine rebounds from John Wilson, 15 points and five rebounds from Mark Montuano, 15 points, four assists, and two rebounds from Jan Jamon, and 12 points, four assists, and two rebounds from Mocon.
In the nightcap, Batangas City Tanduay Athletics pulled away late to defeat the Meycauayan Marilao Gems, 75-61, for its 10th consecutive victory and a 12-2 record.
The Gems cut the deficit to 68-61 with 3:24 remaining, but Batangas closed the game on an 8-0 run to seal the win.
The Athletics remained third in the South Division behind Gensan (13-2) while staying ahead of Biñan (12-3) and Cebu (12-3) in the race for playoff positioning.
Rhinwill Yambing earned Best Player honors after finishing with 10 points, four rebounds, five blocks, and three steals, edging teammates Ino Comboy, who had 14 points, four rebounds, and four assists, and Mark Cruz, who recorded 14 points and eight rebounds.
Former Batangas standout MJ Dela Virgen paced the Gems with 17 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, while Jayson Apolonio added nine points and six rebounds. Meycauayan Marilao absorbed its third straight loss and dropped to 8-7.
The tournament resumes on Friday at the Pasay Astrodome with Gensan taking on Imus at 4 p.m., Bacolod facing Ilagan Isabela at 6 p.m., and Abra battling Pasay at 8 p.m.
