Aurora improved to 4-2 to solidify their position at third in the standings while handing TNC their fifth straight defeat.
Despite the loss, TNC was able to snatch their first-ever game win this season which impressed Aurora head coach Aniel “Master the Basics” Jiandani.
“Kahit na wala pa silang wins, makikita natin yung improvement ng TNC. May mga bagay silang ginawa sa buong series na to na hindi namin inexpect. Kaya rin siguro sila naka-isang point,” said Master the Basics of TNC’s performance against Aurora.
“Tingin ko yung adjustment din. Maganda yung naging adjustment nila, lalo na nung Game 2.”
TNC looked primed for a breakthrough win after establishing a 5th-minute 3k gold lead in Game 1. However, Jonard âDemonkiteâ Caranto (Nolan) secured the 10th-minute lord objective that signaled Aurora’s comeback to take the opener, 1-0.
The Phoenix Army learned their lessons in the opener and relied on the exploits of Ken âKzenâ Pile â who finished with a phenomenal 9-1-4 KDA on the Hayabusa â to score their first event game win this season and force a rubber match.
TNC once again established a slim early game lead in Game 3, however, Renejay “Renejay” Barcase’s (Edith) two-man Earth Shatter set-up play midway through the 12th minute capped off a 3-1 exchange.
Aurora never looked back from there and bagged the victory by the 15th minute.
Aurora will close out the first half of the season against Team Liquid PH on Saturday, September 7.
