Ariana Enderes scored a brace as the Philippine Girls Under-17 National Team opened its 2026 AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers campaign in dominant fashion, routing Syria 5–0 on Monday at the Pamir Stadium in Tajikistan.
Enderes, who plays for Virginia Development Academy in the Elite Clubs National League in the United States, gave the Filipinas U-17 a commanding advantage before halftime.
She opened the scoring just four minutes into the match, finishing from close range off a Chiara Mizzo cross, before doubling the lead in the 44th minute with a stunning strike from outside the box.
With a two-goal cushion at the break, the Philippines continued to assert its dominance in the second half, adding three more goals to seal the victory.
Kaida Mizzo and Louraine Evangelista each found the back of the net in quick succession, scoring in the 50th and 52nd minutes, respectively, both with long-range efforts that left the Syrian keeper helpless.
Sofhia Muros then capped the emphatic win with a close-range finish in the 72nd minute.
The convincing result placed the Philippines atop Group A with three points and a +5 goal difference, while Syria dropped to the bottom of the standings with zero points and a -5 GD.
Meanwhile, Malaysia and host nation Tajikistan were set to face off later in the day.
Both the Philippines and Syria will return to action on Thursday, with the Filipinas facing Tajikistan at 8:00 PM, while Syria takes on Malaysia at 5:00 PM.
