Alyssa Valdez bags 6th V-League MVP plum


Alyssa Valdez added another hardware to her bemedaled career, Saturday afternoon.

The 26-year-old hoisted the PVL Reinforced Conference Most Valuable Player trophy. She placed 10th in scoring during the elimination round with 120 points – built on 93 spikes, 23 service aces and four blocks – on a 35.77 percent attack efficiency.

This is her third MVP plum in the PVL and sixth in the V-League. The Ateneo Lady Eagle legend also won the 2015 Open Conference, 2015 Collegiate Conference, 2016 Reinforced Conference, 2017 Reinforced Conference, and 2018 Open Conference MVP awards.

Valdez was also the number one scorer in the service area, averaging 0.68 aces per set. Flaunting her defensive wares, she normed 2.24 digs per frame.

The Creamline captain also bagged the 2nd Best Outside Spiker award – behind BanKo’s skipper Nicole Tiamzon, who was named the 1st Best Outside Spiker.

Fellow Cool Smasher Jia Morado received the Best Setter recognition.

The Best Import award went to Petro Gazz reinforcement Wilma Salas, while BanKo stalwarts Dzi Gervacio and Kath Bersola won Best Opposite Spiker and 1st Best Middle Blocker, respectively.

Cherry Nunag of the Petro Gazz Angels received 2nd Best Middle Blocker. Angela Nunag of PacificTown-Army was hailed Best Libero to complete the special awardees.
