No more tears.
In an interview with CNN Sportsdesk, Alvin Pasaol has confirmed that he will be playing out his final year of eligibility with the University of the East Red Warriors.
“I will stay with UE.”
With that declaration, the Red Warriors will enter the UAAP Season 82 Men’s Basketball Tournament with renewed hope.
Joining the burly 6-foot-4 scorer are key transferees and recruits Adama Diakhite, Richie Rodgers, Brix Ramos, and Neil Tolentino.
This season, Pasaol averaged 24.4 points, 11.0 rebounds, 1.9 steals, and 1.0 assists per game. His scoring norms is the most in UAAP history for a local student-athlete since 2003.
What made the two-time All-UAAP decide to stay? According to him, he is not yet primed for the pros.
“Siguro, kailangan ko pa ng more experience. Siyempre, pagdating sa PBA mahirap, mas malalaki kalaban. Kailangan ko talaga mag-domina muna sa UAAP,” he shared.
“Kulang pa.”
UE are coming off their worst outing in the UAAP in school history, tallying just one win out of 14 games.
