Thirteen of the 19 members of the pool were in attendance as Gilas Pilipinas continued its buildup for the 2019 FIBA World Cup on a rainy Thursday evening at the Meralco Gym in Pasig City.
Gabe Norwood spearheaded the session, where 10 other players were in uniform and took part in the workouts.
Andray Blatche, Marcio Lassiter, Roger Pogoy, Kiefer Ravena, Poy Erram, Raymond Almazan, Beau Belga, Matthew Wright, and young ward CJ Perez were the others who joined the drills.
Troy Rosario has also come back to the fold after sitting out for days due to ankle and hip injuries.
Japeth Aguilar and Stanley Pringle — who has been included in the pool already after being just an extra body in the team’s early sessions — were in street clothes and watched from the sidelines.
Absent in practice were Mark Barroca, Robert Bolick, Paul Lee, June Mar Fajardo, and Christian Standhardinger, who’s among the new additions to the talent pool released this Monday.
Thursday marked Gilas’ 10th practice. They now have about less than three weeks left before flying to Spain for a pocket tournament, which is part of their preparations for the World Cup.
