PVL: Domingo, Creamline make quick work of Choco Mucho in lopsided Clasico

The Alyssa Valdez-less Creamline annihilated sister team Choco Mucho, 25-18, 25-13, 25-14 to take solo lead in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference, Tuesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Three players scored in double figures for the Cool Smashers with Michele Gumabao, Ced Domingo, and Jema Galanza finishing with 15 points each. This, while limiting the Flying Titans to just 23 attack points throughout the match.

Jia De Guzman once again did a spectacular job distributing the ball, dishing out 25 excellent sets in just three sets of action to help Creamline start the conference with a 3-0 standing.

“Syempre masaya kami. Sana magtuluy-tuloy pa yung improvements kasi medyo maganda yung service receive namin. I think magi-improve pa, pero satisfied naman kami sa game ngayon. Mahaba pa naman yung conference so yun yung ime-maintain namin,” said Creamline head coach Sherwin Meneses.

“Actually nung first set grabe yung balikan ng errors e. We have seven service errors, so talagang yun yung unang inayos namin nung second and third set,” he added.

The Cool Smashers committed a total of 19 errors while the Flying Titans had 16.

Choco Mucho looked like it was about to put up a fight in the third set after recovering from a slow 3-11 start. They unleashed a 6-0 blast led by Des Cheng to trim the lead to just two points.

That, however, proved to be the last of it. Creamline led by as much as 10 points before finishing off their sister club.

Kat Tolentino and Cheng finished with eight points to lead the Flying Titans, who now have dropped their second consecutive game after putting up a dominant debut against Akari.
