The PNP Responders and Office of the President Executives downed their respective rivals to jumpstart their title bids in the UNTV Executive Face-Off on Sunday at the Novadeci Convention Center, QC.
The Responders relied heavily on the excellent shooting skills of Joel De Mesa to overpower the Ombudsman Graftbusters with a score of 70-54.
De Mesa contributed 22 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists, earning him the Player of the Game award.
Meanwhile, the Executives defeated the GSIS Furies 98-54, utilizing a well-distributed offensive strategy.
Franz Alvarez led the charge with 20 points and 19 rebounds.
The quarterfinal round of the primary event will begin on April 11th, with four teams playing another round. The top two teams will advance to the semi-finals alongside Judiciary and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
