After a seven-month break from competitive basketball, Quentin Millora-Brown is making his return.
The 6-foot-10 Filipino-American big man has signed a short-term deal with the Macau Black Bears.
The move was first reported by Homer Sayson and later confirmed to Tiebreaker Times by multiple sources familiar with the situation.
According to sources close to Millora-Brown’s camp, he has agreed to suit up for the Black Bears in the fourth leg of The Asian Tournament, which will be held from July 20 to 24 in Yuncheng, Shanxi, China.
This signing also means that the former University of the Philippines Fighting Maroon will see action for the Black Bears in a tune-up game against Gilas Pilipinas on July 28 at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.
During his one-and-done stint with UP, Millora-Brown served as the anchor of the Maroons’ frontcourt, averaging 9.59 points, 9.94 rebounds, and 1.41 assists. His presence was instrumental in helping the team capture its second UAAP title in four years.
Earlier this year, several MPBL teams — most notably Abra Solid North — showed interest in acquiring Millora-Brown’s services.
Following the conclusion of his stint with Macau, Millora-Brown is expected to weigh his next steps carefully. Among his options is declaring for the 2024 PBA Rookie Draft, scheduled for September 7.
If he enters the draft, he is widely projected to be the top overall pick — a selection currently held by Terrafirma.
