UAAP 85 WBB: NU’s ‘Big Three’ powers rout of UP for win no. 104

National University enjoyed a wire-to-wire 95-68 win over University of the Philippines in the second round of the UAAP Season 85 Women’s Basketball Tournament, Sunday, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The result meant that the Lady Bulldogs sealed their eighth straight win of the season – their 104th consecutive victory – to lead the standings.

The six-time defending champions dominated the contest right from tip-off and led by as much as 64-28 off an underhand stab from Angel Surada in the 7:53 mark of the third quarter.

Despite the huge win, NU coach Aris Dimaunahan lamented certain aspects of his team’s performance. “Obviously, a lot of work has to be done on our team from this day on,” he said. “We did not shoot well from the free throw line. We only had 50 percent. We missed 13. That’s a lot of freebies missed for this morning’s game.

“We had a lot of turnovers (29) today. I thought it could be a better game for us had we taken care of the ball. Hopefully, we’ll do better next time and improve again,” he continued.UAAP-85-WBB-UP-vs.-NU-Camille-Clarin-4458 UAAP 85 WBB: NU's 'Big Three' powers rout of UP for win no. 104 Basketball News NU UAAP UP - philippine sports news
