UAAP back at Araneta, Ynares Antipolo, PhilSports


After three years, the University Athletic Association of the Philippines Collegiate Basketball Tournament will not just play at SM Mall of Asia Arena.

In the schedule released by the league on Thursday evening, the SMART Araneta Coliseum, Ynares Sports Antipolo, and PhilSports Arena will also host games in the first round of the country’s premier collegiate league.

Of course, MOA Arena will host the opening weekend of games on October 1 and 2.

The women’s and men’s basketball teams of Adamson University and University of Santo Tomas will open the hostilities at 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM respectively. Serving as the main dish will be University of the Philippines and De La Salle University at 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM respectively.

Meanwhile, National University will take on University of the East on Sunday followed by Far Eastern University versus Ateneo de Manila University.

PhilSports and UST’s Quadricentennial Pavillion will host the first quadruple headers games of the league on Wednesday. Women’s games begin at 9:00 AM while the men’s slate will have a start time of 11:00 AM.

The first men’s Ateneo-La Salle clash of the year will happen on October 9 at SMART Araneta Coliseum with a special start time of 4:30 PM. Meanwhile, opening the day is the much-anticipated game between the Lady Bulldogs and the Golden Tigresses will open the day at 8:00 AM.

The finals rematch between the Fighting Maroons and the Blue Eagles will take place on Sunday, October 16 at MOA Arena. The game will also have a special start time of 4:30 PM.

Games at Ynares Antipolo will close out the round on October 22 and 23.

The Cheerdance Competition is slated to take place on December 10 while the Finals is expected to end on December 14.
