Tots Carlos glad to see second-stringers step up for injury-ridden Creamline

Tots Carlos shared that she already feels great after suffering a minor hamstring injury in Creamline’s five-set loss against F2 Logistics last February 18 in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference.

The Cool Smashers coaching staff sat Carlos during the first set of the team’s following game against Chery Tiggo where she was limited to just nine points.

“I feel great especially syempre minor injury lang naman. Okay na ako, okay na ako,” said Carlos.

On Tuesday night, Carlos bounced back and delivered a game-high 17 points on 14 attacks, two aces, and a block to go along with six excellent receptions in Creamline’s 25-15, 25-20, 25-12, against Army-Black Mamba at the Philsports Arena.

“At least I got the chance to rest for a bit and yun, syempre kapag nawala ka sa training and sa games kailangan mong bumawi pag-balik mo,” said the two-time PVL Most Valuable Player.

Carlos said that she was also happy to see the second-stringers finally get their time on the court. “Syempre super happy kasi gaya ng sabi ni coach kanina, kaming lahat pare-pareho ng ginagawa sa training so yung intensity, yung aggressiveness ng training pare-pareho yung amount na nare-receive namin,” said Carlos.

“So we’re really grateful and happy na nakalaro [sila] today at nakita mo na yung second stringers namin na sobrang saya talaga na naglaro and syempre iba pa rin yung nakakapaglaro ka e. Nakaka-gain kami ng confidence, ng motivation, mai-inspire kami to train before our next game,” she continued.

Creamline head coach Sherwin Meneses emphasized how important Carlos’ role is with the Cool Smashers which is also why he is very glad to finally see his ace spiker healthy.

Meneses said that getting everyone in tip-top shape will be one of the team’s goals heading into the final stretch of the eliminations.

“Masaya kasi alam niyo naman si Tots, sa harap o sa likod maasahan mo naman. Hopefully, yung injury niya na minor injury talagang mawala na sa mga next games namin para hindi na rin kami concerned sa team namin na may mga injury,” said the PVL champion coach.

“So hopefully maging maganda yung pakiramdam ng team namin kasi medyo dikit dikit na yung mga games. Ta-trabahuhin naming maging healthy muna kami sa mga next games namin,” he added.
