TNT has parted ways with Mike DiGregorio after just a conference, as the KaTropa traded the Fil-Italian shooter to Alaska.
The PBA made the announcement across its social media accounts on Monday.
The flasgship MVP franchise has acquired the rights to gunslinging point guard Simon Enciso in return. Both the Texters and the Aces swapped their 2023 second round draft picks as well.
DiGregorio is now set to play for his fourth team in the league. Drafted by Mahindra with the 35th pick in 2015, he left for Blackwater in 2017 before being shipped to the KaTropa last October.
The 28-year-old guard from Chicago was part of the deal sending him and Bobby Ray Parks, Jr. to TNT in exchange for forward Don Trollano, bruiser David Semerad, and a future draft pick.
With the KaTropa, DiGregorio went to the semifinals for the first time in his career in the 2019 Governors’ Cup. There, they were eliminated by Allen Durham and the Meralco Bolts in five games.
DiGregorio will now join the Aces’ backcourt that features another shooter in Maverick Ahanmisi.
Enciso, meanwhile, will also be playing for his fourth team just like his fellow 2015 draftee. He first started with the NLEX Road Warriors before going to the Phoenix Fuel Masters in 2016.
Enciso was then traded to Alaska for RJ Jazul in 2017, and it was with the Aces where he went to the Finals of the 2018 Governors’ Cup. They finished as runners-up to the Magnolia Hotshots.
The Fil-American cager will now be part of the KaTropa’s guard-oriented play led of course by Jayson Castro.
