Titan Ultra has finally secured its reinforcement after Tirrell Brown was officially cleared to suit up as the team’s import beginning Tuesday in the PBA Season 50 Governors’ Cup.
Brown completed the mandatory height measurement last Saturday and was found to be within the league’s 6-foot-6 import height limit, paving the way for his conference debut against NLEX at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
The Giant Risers had initially hoped to bring in James Milton as their import, but those plans fell through after he was unable to secure the necessary FIBA clearance.
With Brown now eligible, Titan Ultra hopes to turn around its fortunes after opening the conference with back-to-back defeats.
The Giant Risers dropped a 113-100 decision to Terrafirma in their season opener last Friday before suffering a 105-74 setback against Converge on Sunday.
The 32-year-old American brings extensive international experience to Titan Ultra, having spent the majority of his professional career across South America.
Brown has suited up for clubs in Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Bolivia, and Ecuador, including stints with Caimanes del Llano, Centenario de Venado Tuerto, GEPU San Luis, Villa San Martin, Ameghino, Asociacion Mitre Tucuman, Quilmes de Mar del Plata, Deportivo Valdivia, ABA Ancud, Toros, Colón, Tabaré, 25 de Agosto, Amistad, Kinwa, and Barcelona.
Before embarking on his overseas career, Brown played at Central Arkansas before concluding his collegiate career at Ouachita Baptist University.
