The brass of the TNT Katropa are set to file a protest on their 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup quarterfinals game between them and the San Miguel Beermen.
During the post-game of their tilt against the San Miguel Beermen Monday evening, team manager Virgil Villavicencio signed the official statsheet with the words “UNDER PROTEST”, according to the game officials.
The game saw TNT fall to their arch-rivals, 121-110, in a game that saw them lead by as much as 23 points in the second frame.
“No comment,” said TNT head coach Nash Racela on the matter.
Based on the stats, the Katropa allowed San Miguel to shoot 25 free throws in the second half after giving up just 15 in the first 24 minutes of the contest.
However, a formal protest has yet to be filed by the camp.
Protests in the big league could only include technicalities. The commissioner’s office must receive a formal letter by 12:00nn the next day, in this case tomorrow.
“We will let you know by tomorrow morning,” added Villavicencio.
TNT will have to pay a protest fee of PHP 20,000.
