Thirdy Ravena skips PBA Draft

One of the top collegiate prospects in basketball today will not be part of the 2019 PBA Rookie Class.

Three-time UAAP Men’s Basketball Tournament Finals MVP Thirdy Ravena has opted not to join this year’s rookie draft. His application papers were not in the league’s office as the deadline of 5:00 pm passed Friday.

The 6-foot-3 Ravena — who posted norms of 14.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.13 steals per game in his final year — was seen as the consensus top pick in this year’s class.

The 22-year-old was also part of the Gilas Pilipinas seniors team that competed during the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

In all, a total of 71 candidates made themselves available in the talent-rich pool.

The 2019 PBA Rookie Draft will be held on December 8 at the Robinson’s Place Manila in Ermita.
