Terrence Romeo clarified that there’s no bad blood between him and Rashawn McCarthy following their verbal altercations during the TNT KaTropa-Columbian Dyip clash in the 2018 Governors’ Cup, Sunday evening.
Romeo and McCarthy were jawing each other with 1:06 left in the extra period, with the former’s TNT up by just a solitary point, 115-114. The two had to be separated by their teammates, and Romeo was whistled for a technical foul.
It did not end there, however, as they kept trading verbal jabs whenever they crossed paths. It even reached a point where the 5-foot-11 Romeo screamed in the 6-foot McCarthy’s face when he made a tough lay-up over him with 57 seconds left to play.
Romeo’s TNT won, 118-114, to end their three-game losing skid.
I mean, nagbabatian kami, although ‘di kami nagsasama ng matagal,” shared the 26-year-old scorer, who had 22 points.
After the game, the two were seen laughing together with Anthony Semerad.
Romeo even defended the Fil-American guard from further scrutiny, saying he imagines that McCarthy only got carried away with the way the game was turning out, especially in the extra period where the Dyip led early.
Part lang ng game,” said the five-year pro.
