Savi Davison carried PLDT to a hard-fought 25-17, 23-25, 27-25, 21-25, 15-10 victory over Farm Fresh, firing 32 points to secure the High Speed Hitters’ solo first place in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the Filoil Centre in San Juan on Thursday.
Davison’s scoring came on 28 spikes, three blocks, and an ace, while she also contributed 13 excellent receptions and 12 excellent digs, proving instrumental in a match that lasted two hours and 26 minutes.
“Proud lang ako sa naging pagsagot namin dun sa challenge. Yung maturity na sinasabi ko sa kanila tuwing may ganitong situations, sumakto today. Nandun lahat nung breaks, nandun lahat nung bad calls, nandoon yung coming-from-behind saka ayun nga, mahirap yung fifth set eh. So, very happy kami na na-recover namin,” said PLDT head coach Rald Ricafort.
Davison teamed up with Majoy Baron and Kianna Dy to give PLDT a 5-1 lead in the fifth set, but the Foxies kept fighting.
Trisha Tubu, Royse Tubino, and Ces Molina helped Farm Fresh pull within a point, 9-10.
PLDT, however, refused to be denied. Davison scored back-to-back points, and sparkplugs Jessey De Leon and Angge Alcantara each added a point in a 4-0 run that pushed the High Speed Hitters to match point at 14-9.
After an Alcantara service error, Davison closed out the game with a crosscourt kill, securing her 32nd point and the win.
Dy added 19 points as PLDT overcame a game-high 30 errors while dominating in spikes (74-59) and blocks (14-7).
Farm Fresh slipped to 2-4, tied with Galeries Tower Highrisers for eighth to ninth place.
Tubino, who entered from the second set, led the Foxies with 17 points. Tubu contributed 16 points, while Molina had 14 points along with 15 excellent receptions and 12 excellent digs.
Both teams return to action on Tuesday at the same venue: PLDT will face Galeries Tower at 4 p.m., followed by Farm Fresh against Choco Mucho at 6:30 p.m.
