The Philippine Football Federation on Friday announced an adjustment to the hosting plans of the inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup 2025, sharing that Victorias City, Negros Occidental will no longer serve as a host venue for the global tournament set to run from November 21 to December 7.
In an official statement, the federation explained that the decision came after a comprehensive review of logistical and operational considerations, with FIFA and the Local Organizing Committee ultimately opting to streamline and reduce the tournament’s footprint.
With this, Victorias City was dropped as a co-host city due to both logistical realities and current circumstances.
“After a comprehensive review of logistical and operational considerations, and in light of the ongoing situations, it has been decided that Victorias City, Negros Occidental, will no longer serve as a host city for this edition of the tournament,” the statement continued.
The PFF added that the decision was made to ensure the smooth staging of the competition and keep preparations on track.
“The adjustment also reflects FIFA and the LOC’s joint objective to streamline and reduce the tournament’s footprint, ensuring the most efficient delivery of the event.”
With the change, Pasig City will now serve as the sole host of the tournament.
Despite the adjustments, the PFF reaffirmed its commitment to making the first-ever FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup a milestone moment for Philippine sports.
“The PFF is fully committed to delivering a historic and memorable inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup,” the federation said.
“We are eager to showcase the passion of the Filipino people for the sport and invite everyone to celebrate women’s futsal on the global stage in Pasig City.”
