Pacatiw looks to expose holes in Andrade’s game come ONE: Full Circle

Jeremy “The Juggernaut” Pacatiw sees movement as key to victory against no. 4-ranked bantamweight Fabricio “Wonder Boy” Andrade at ONE: Full Circle on Friday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The Team Lakay star recognizes the Brazilian as the biggest test of his career because of Andrade’s capabilities of going toe-to-toe with him.

The fighting pride of Fortaleza remains unbeaten in three bouts in The Home of Martial Arts. He comes into this contest with a 67 percent finishing rate.

“Looking at his previous fights, particularly against Shoko Sato, we’ve seen that he’s a very well-rounded fighter. He has very solid striking, and he has a great ground game. But that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have any weaknesses,” he said.

“Looking at his striking base, he doesn’t use his movements a lot. He’s also not a volume puncher. He picks his punches, but it’s pretty accurate, so it’s something that I still have to be wary of.”

Luckily for him, he feels that the Marrok Force and Nova Uniao representative suits his strengths pretty well.

In his debut against “The Ghost” Chen Rui at ONE: BATTLEGROUND last year, the 25-year-old had a solid debut by using his footwork and speed to disrupt the Chinese power puncher’s game plan.

It’s something that Pacatiw feels will work for him again.

“We’re pretty much keeping our game plan from the first fight, [which is to] utilize my footwork and keep moving. If I stay put, plant my feet, and trade punches with him, that could put me in a very tough spot against him because that’s his game,” the competitor with an 11-4 MMA record revealed.

“I have to use my speed, footwork, and keep him guessing and take him off his rhythm. That’s one of my weapons – my footwork.”

The only thing missing from that splendid debut was a finish, and it’s something he hopes to get in his return to the Circle.

“A win is a win, so I’ll take anything. But, of course, I’ll be looking at that finish. Hopefully, I get a knockout or submission,” the Benguet-based combatant shared.

“At the end of the day, the goal is to win whether it be via submission, knockout, or even decision.”
