Paat, Nakhon Ratchasima vent ire on Kasetsart in VTL

Mylene Paat’s Nakhon Ratchasima QminC returned to the win column after making quick work of Kasetsart, 25-15, 25-17, 25-15, in the 2021-22 Volleyball Thailand League, Sunday at the Nimibutr Stadium in Bangkok.

The lone Filipina import in Thailand was benched in the last set of their last match against the undefeated Supreme Chonburi. But she rediscovered her form in the game that lasted just 1 hour and 15 minutes, converting a game-high 15 points on 14 attacks and a service ace.

Players now have to wear face masks on the floor during the game as an additional measure to the rising cases of Covid-19 Omicron variant there.

In the first two sets, the two squads traded points in the early goings before Nakhon Ratchasima pulled away late.

But in the third period, Paat and her squad did not waste any time, dominating Kasetsart right from the get-go, racing to an 11-3 start, and never looking back en route to the win, 25-15.

Middle blocker Karina Krause added 11 points for the victors while Chatsuda Nilapa and Patcharaporn Sittisad tallied eight points apiece.

Nobody from the Kasetsart camp reached double digits with Panida Yokawat making nine points, while Aphinya Phanchula got seven.

The losing squad only had eight active players available during the match as it fell to 1-4 for seventh.

Nakhon Ratchasima improved to an even 3-3 slate, good for fourth, and will face Pro Flex RSU on Saturday, 9:30 am, at the same venue.
