Noy Remogat transfers from UE to UP

Elite programs always have a Plan B.

Having missed out on Jared Bahay, University of the Philippines swiftly moved on as it was able to secure the commitment of transferee Noy Remogat.

Remogat bid farewell to UE on Tuesday and is now ready to transfer to UP.

“I want to express my sincere thanks to UE for providing me with the opportunity to be where I am today. I will forever be indebted to all of you for the opportunity you gave in shaping my present and future,” he said.

“But now it’s time for me to make a decision for what my family needs and where I can grow as an athlete. This decision is not easy, but it is a necessary step in my journey. After careful consideration with my family and loved ones, I believe the next step of my career is playing for the UP Fighting Maroons in Season 88-89.”

Acquiring the 5-foot-10 guard will bring stability to the Fighting Maroons’ guard rotation once JD Cagulangan graduates after UAAP Season 87.

“We love the current guards that we have, siyempre, pero at the same time, we’re excited to have a player like Noy. Magiging malaking bagay siya para sa future natin,” said UP head coach Goldwin Monteverde.

He posted impressive numbers of 16.5 points, 6.36 rebounds, 7.86 assists, and 2.0 steals per contest for the Red Warriors, earning him a spot on the Mythical Team.

Remogat will have to sit out for one year before donning the Maroon jersey.

He will have two years of eligibility remaining.

“I look forward to learning from Coach Gold and experiencing the support of the UP community. UP, here I come. UP Fight!” Remogat said.
