Just days before entering the 2025 PBA Philippine Cup Quarterfinals, the NLEX Road Warriors took a detour to visit Sitero Francisco Memorial National High School in Valenzuela City on June 10.
This visit was part of the ongoing NLEX Dayo Series.
The event was more than just a routine outreach; it was a meaningful day of giving back, making connections, and reflecting on the importance of community.
Led by NLEX Governor Ronald Dulatre, the team worked together to conduct a basketball clinic for students and donated sports equipment to aid in their training.
“We are deeply grateful to the NLEX Road Warriors for their generous donation of basketball equipment. Your support inspires our students to dream bigger, play harder, and grow through sports. This gift goes beyond the court; it builds confidence, teamwork, and lasting impact,” said Jhay Santos, MAPEH Department Head of Sitero Francisco Memorial National High School.
Among those who took part in the community initiative were forward Tony Semerad, guard Richie Rodger, big men Jake Pascual and Dave Marcelo, assistant coach Emman Monfort, and legend Asi Taulava—whose presence drew admiration from the students and teachers alike.
“This kind of experience humbles you and reminds you why we play,” shared Semerad. “Seeing how excited the kids were despite having so little—it inspired us to push harder and go all-out in the playoffs.”
The energy from the young students was electric throughout the event, as laughter, drills, and stories filled the gym.
“This is what basketball is really about—building dreams, sharing what we’ve learned, and connecting with the next generation,” said Monfort.
The NLEX Road Warriors ended the elimination round with an 8-3 record, securing a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals against Rain or Shine.
