National athletes encourage countrymen to stay fit amid lockdown

Stay fit at home

That’s exactly the order of business most athletes are dealing with during the large-scale lockdown brought about by the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Be it weight training, calisthenics or the like, working out is an effective way of ensuring that one’s physique remains in top shape.

Besides staying active amid the quarantine period though, athletes continue to be a huge source of motivation for those who aspire to be fit.

And so, the Philippine Sports Commission (POC) stitched several workout videos of the country’s top athletes, reminding the public to “keep our bodies fit and healthy” in the fight against the pandemic.

Sharing their routines are Rio Olympics weightlifting silver medalist Hidilyn Diaz, volleyball superstar Alyssa Valdez, wushu martial artist Agatha Wong, karateka Junna Tsukii, and marathoner Mary Joy Tabal.

Completing the initial cast were Joane Orbon, Gilbert Ombao, John Enrico Vasquez, Rexor Tacay, Annie Ramirez, and Lenard Lancero II.
