Myla Pablo remains day-to-day due to back injury

Motolite’s prized recruit Myla Pablo was not fielded in the season opener of the Power Builders.

Pablo, who transferred from Pocari Sweat last year, suited up for Motolite but admitted that her back has been hurting, leaving her no choice but to sit out against the PacificTown-Army Lady Troopers.

Motolite ended up dropping their debut game, suffering a four-set defeat at the hands of PacificTown-Army.

“Actually yung back ko uli,” the two-time V-League Most Valuable Player sighed.

“Siguro nabigla lang ‘yung back ko kasi May 10 kami nagsimula ng training so mga two weeks pa lang ako nakakapractice siguro so nabigla ‘yung back ko.”

The product of National University has been battling back spasms throughout her young-yet-decorated professional career.

But when asked if this was the same injury as before, the 25-year-old shared that it is not the usual back spasm that she has been nursing — rather, it was more of a muscle strain in the lower right portion of her back.

Despite being riddled with back pains, Pablo has been cleared to do ball training but noted that she has yet to be allowed to do drills that require her to roll and dive.

“Nung therapy ko kahapon, pwede naman ako magbola bola pero wala muna yung mga roll, ‘yung mga dive kasi mahirap daw kasi pag nabigla, lalong lalala,” the 5-foot-10 spiker recalled.

Moreover, Pablo will not play tomorrow against the undefeated Petro Gazz Angels.

Asked when she will be cleared out to play, Pablo said:

“I’ll play on Wednesday. Bukas not sure pa depende sa mga coaches kung kailangan.”

Motolite head coach Air Padda, meanwhile, stressed that they are doing their best to deal with the matter and that the doctor cleared her prized-spiker to play next week against BanKo Perlas on Wednesday.

“We’re just trying to maintain it and handle it the best that we can. The doctors say though, she should be back next weekend to play,” Padda shared.

“We’re looking forward to that but we’re just trying to deal with it the best that we can.”
